Note from the curator Karl Lind: I personally hand picked these little gems for the Odds and Ends screening, most of the artists are based here in Portland Oregon and I am constantly amazed by the sheer awesomeness of the work I see and am perpetually inspired by. The remainder of the filmmakers represented this evening are all currently based in L.A. (with the exception of Tony Gault who is actually moving to Oregon from Colorado on the day of the screening) and I have had the good fortune to come across their work at other festivals both local and beyond and their films appear tonight as honored guests here tonight in our City of Roses. Also we have some winners in the house for this screening, congrats to them! • Kurt Nishimura’s music video for Chandelle’s “It’s a War” recently took top honors at New York’s Short-Short Film Festival this July • Uli Beutter and Alec Cohen’s music video for Copy’s “Fancy Time” just took the Grand Jury Award this year at Portland’s own P.I.S.S. FEST! The Line up for the evening: Animal Charm (LA/Worldwide) “Sunshine Kitty” - experimental short
