Scratch: Bake Sale Benefit

Saturday November 21, 2009
The Cleaners at Ace Hotel
403 SW 10th
Portland, OR

Remember bake sales from days bygone: banana bread, sugar cookies, and pound cakes? Well galleryHOMELAND would like to invite you to revisit that nostalgic pastime in a whole new way. We have invited over 30 local chefs, mixologists, artists and designers to make everything from coffeecake and marmalade to artisan ice cream and seasonal pickles. This is not your average bake sale!

Please join us on Saturday November 21st at The Cleaners at Ace Hotel from 11am-2pm. Come have a cup of complimentary hot cider while the supple sounds of old time country music fills your ears. Come browse the selection of made-from-scratch goods, fill your pantry or just a small pastry box and support galleryHOMELAND. All baked goods will be priced individually $3-$5 with the exception of whole pies. All jarred goods will be priced from $5-$8. Due to the fact that all goods are being donated by individuals there is no guarantee that particular items won’t run out fast, so get there early.

All proceeds go to support galleryHOMELAND’s 2010 programming.

A few of our participants and their contributions:
Chris DiMinno of Clyde Common: Terri DiMinno’s Sour Cream Coffeecake
Emily Katz of Emily Katz: Cardamon Apple pie
Sara Dudzinsky of Better Late than Never: Banana bread
Morgan Wu and Colette Higgins of Clyde Common: Artisan Ice Creams
Colleen French of Renegade: Old fashioned Chocolate Cake
and so much more..
