For “A Materialized Order” Raymont presents a series of new works on paper. Hung on the wall like a WiFi cloud spreads over a city, it suggests a nostalgic view of a future digital world. His sketches of digitized topographies and modular constructions could be from an archeological survey of an 8-bit video game or a wistful expression of a long anticipated new world born out of years of pop culture saturation tempered with art historical and architectural influences. To his work Raymont brings a deliberate draftsmanship embracing chance occurrences and striking a balance between geometry and organic form.
