“Brickolage” is a site specific light installation by Salmanson designed to incorporate the heaviness of brickwork with a prismatic take on material. An insightful balance that bends the qualities of substance with the ethereal – the red and green uses of light call to mind the physicality of brickwork. The street and it’s buildings are brought inside, harmonizing feelings of the exterior landscape of today with the experience of interior space. Salmanson constructs a physicality that is both definitive and an illusion – a comment on how our eye perceives light but more so how one’s mind interprets all it views.
