Victor Kegli (EU)

Kegli creates a poetic string of words that cycle from glowing strong to fading into darkness. On a series of light boxes, programmed light is utilized to draw attention to or away from a text phrases in various languages, all of which are latent with several interpretations. The artist controls the text’s message by contextualizing its delivery with different levels of light. The results are written words that each have an individual voice ranging from demonstrative to whispering- either end of the scale holding its own identity within the group. Using principles of light to dramatize his subjects as the most sophisticated traditional Renaissance painter would, Kegli exemplifies how light continues be essential and reinterpreted in Art.
