Scratching the Surface is a summer arts exhibition embracing the Willamette River’s powerful role in promoting culture through community and exploration. With the Willamette Rive as a literal and conceptual backdrop Scratching the Surface seeks to develop an understanding of our built and natural environments through the collaboration between the diverse and expansive creative community and the public at large and is realized as a series of scheduled lectures, installations, performances and events on and around the Eastbank Esplanade.
Starting the beginning of August galleryHOMELAND will open the month with an exhibition featuring past and future Scratching the Surface Artists. On display all month at the gallery located in the Historic Ford Building. Our 08 performances and projects will open in conjunction with Eco Trust August 30th – September 7th.
This year we are proud to be collaborating with Eco Trust and once again have the support of Orlo, Parks and Recreation, Scrap, and Mayor Elect Sam Adams.
Scratching the Surface 08 is generously sponsored by a Project Grant through RACC.
